Karma Yoga - The Discipline of Action

I walk around today with a new sense of being. In the last month, I have completed my Level 2 Teacher Training with Baron Baptise. And last week I helped assist Baron and the team with the Level 1 Teacher Training. I walked into the Assistant Apprentice program not knowing what to expect. I found myself challenged in just about every way. Physically, mentally and emotionally challenged. During a moment of inquiry, I asked myself “Why am I doing here?”. What is it about the lack of sleep, or the mental requirement of 100% of my attention, or having to put a smile on my face when my inner ‘Yes’ is saying ‘No’? I don’t consider myself to be an emotional guy, but I tend to become emotional at teacher trainings, even ones that I am assisting as it turns out. The emotions stem from the deep inquiry, not of ‘who am I’ but of ‘how have I shown up?’. I’ve learned from my experience that I have room to grow into a higher version of myself, a solid 10 and above! I’ve learned that the nectar of the practice resides in my service to others. I’ve learned that my commitment to service is actually quite easy I realized how good it feels to be in true authentic service to others.

Rebirth, Yogster the redux…

So it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Call it writer’s block. Call it laziness, or the lack of time. I’m committed to writing here once again. In my recent Level 2 Baptiste Teacher Training, I committed to a new way of being, which is of happiness, health, and abundance. For those of you thinking about doing a Level 1 or 2 teacher training with Baron Baptiste, know that it is not something to be taken lightly. You will make declarations. Life changing words. You will be held accountable immediately for your declarations because in the thick of it, there is no time to waste. So I hereby declare that I will write on my blog once a week (at least). I think that’s a good start. Stay tuned……

Africa Yoga Project

When life gives you lemons, give them away

That exactly what the gals of lululemon athletica cleveland did this past Sunday at the Outdoor Yoga Fundraiser for the Nepal Orphans Home. This past spring, lululemon made me an ambassador for their brand. I’m a big fan of the clothing and the lifestyle they promote through their products. Check out the video I produced to showcase the lululemon manifesto in action.

Yoga for Freedom

Outdoor Yoga Event for Nepal Orphans Home 2010 from Eric Tabora on Vimeo.

I woke up today feeling so inspired by the events of this past weekend. On Saturday, I taught an Intro to Inversions workshop at Cleveland Yoga and was a witness to several breakthroughs. At one point during the workshop, I stopped to just observe, and witnessed up close what happens when people let go of their doubts and fears. In the absence of doubt and fear, there is an abundance of success!

Yesterday, I witnessed another aspect of yoga. Yoga literally means to join or yoke. Yesterday, over a hundred of yogis joined together to celebrate the efforts of the Imagine Benefit. If you haven’t already, check out the video posted above to see what the event was all about. I am so inspired by the selflessness of everyone involved with the project. It is amazing to witness an entire community of yogis coming together for this cause. If you would like to donate, please go to www.nepalorphanshome.org

Imagine: Outdoor Yoga Fund and Awareness Raiser!

On Sunday June 13th at 1pm, Imagine will be hosting it’s 2nd annual outdoor Yoga practice at beautiful Wendy Park on the lake front in Downtown Cleveland (one mile east of Edgewater Park visit wendyparkfoundation.org for more directions). Last year there were 200 Yogi’s present, practicing in front of one of Cleveland’s greatest features; the beautiful Lake Erie. All proceeds go directly to benefit the children of Nepal Orphans Home.

There will be live music to practice to, vendors displaying their wares and one of the most amazing Yoga flows.

Join some of Cleveland’s most in-demand Yoga teachers as they guide you through a 90 minute all levels Yoga practice.

It’s a family friendly event! As the all levels practice is going on, a kids Yoga session will be taking place on the beach.

It is a suggested donation of $20.00 to practice, but no-one will be turned away based on money. Please bring your own mats and props.

This years practice is also a send off for the first installment of Yoga for Freedom, several days after this event 17 Cleveland residents will be heading to Nepal to practice Yoga in benefit of children who have suffered great atrocities at the hands of others.

Come and join us.

Imagine what’s possible if we just try.

Imagine!
